Released configure-trackpoint 0.7. Saving settings works better under Ubuntu and Debian. Configure-Trackpoint now depends on sysfsutils. If you are running Ubuntu or Debian, you can install sysfsutils by the command "sudo apt-get install sysfsutils".

New package added: tp_smapi. This kernel module provides access to functions of the ThinkPad SMAPI BIOS via the new interface found on recent ThinkPads. Currently supports controlling battery charging and CD drive speed. See the ThinkWiki page.

The trackpoint interface was changed for kernel 2.6.11. Martin Yalamov and Zdravko Nikolov have updated configure-trackpoint to work with kernel 2.6.11 and above. If you are using a kernel >= 2.6.11, please download version 0.3. Users of older kernels must use version 0.2.
For old ThinkPad models with which tp_smapi does not work one could consider using tpctl and the thinkpad modules, but these have not been updated to work with the latest versions of Linux
